1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at https://igalaconference.org.ng (the "Site") operated by the 1st International Conference on Igala Studies Organizing Committee ("us", "we", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Site.

2. Conference Registration and Participation

2.1 Eligibility

To register for the conference, you must be at least 18 years of age or have parental/guardian consent. By registering, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

2.2 Registration Fees

All registration fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in our cancellation policy. Fees must be paid in full before the conference to receive confirmation of registration. We accept payments via Paystack, bank transfer, cheque, and cash (onsite only).

2.3 Virtual Participation

Virtual participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary technology (stable internet connection, device with audio/video capabilities) to participate in online sessions. We are not responsible for technical issues on your end.

3. Paper Submissions and Publications

3.1 Originality

By submitting a paper, you confirm that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and does not infringe on any third-party copyrights or intellectual property rights. You grant the conference organizers a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, and distribute your paper in conference proceedings and the digital repository.

3.2 Plagiarism

All submissions are subject to plagiarism checking. Papers found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected immediately, and the author may be banned from future submissions.

3.3 Review Process

All papers undergo a double-blind peer review process. The decision of the review committee is final and binding.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Site (such as paper submission, registration, and support tickets), you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4.2 Account Security

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

4.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including but not limited to:

• Providing false information
• Harassing other users or staff
• Attempting to hack or disrupt the Site
• Submitting plagiarized or offensive content

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Post or transmit any harmful, threatening, or offensive content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
• Use the Site to distribute malware or other harmful code
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Site's operation

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The Site, including its design, layout, graphics, and original content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by the 1st International Conference on Igala Studies and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of your submitted content (papers, presentations, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, publish, and distribute your content in connection with the conference and its related activities.

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., payment processors, social media). We are not responsible for the content or practices of these websites. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON IGALA STUDIES ORGANIZING COMMITTEE, ITS MEMBERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the conference organizers, committee members, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.
