"Igala Studies in the Digital Age: Preserving Identity, Advancing Knowledge, and Embracing Innovation"
The Igala people, one of Nigeria's major ethnic groups with a rich cultural heritage, stand at a critical juncture where modernity, globalization, and digitization intersect with indigenous knowledge and identity.
Despite centuries of vibrant oral traditions and dynamic social systems, the systematic study of Igala language, literature, culture, history, and politics remains underrepresented in academia. In response to this gap, the 1st International Conference on Igala Studies aims to establish a dedicated intellectual platform for scholars, cultural custodians, linguists, technologists, and policy-makers to explore, debate, and advance knowledge around Igala Studies, particularly through the lens of the modern digital world.
